Dear
Fellow IMA Members,
I hope you all are as excited as I am
that Spring is right around the corner. Not that it has been a cold winter,
but it’s a sure sign of longer days and warmer weather. What’s also
exciting is the amount of things still on tap for the last few months of the
2011-2012 IMA year. In addition to our Dinner Meetings and Lunch & Learns,
we will also be honoring those who have recently passed the CMA exam and
those who have served our Chapter as a Past President, in the coming
months. We will be awarding two scholarships to student IMA members at NC
State. We will also have an opportunity to volunteer with the March of
Dimes March for Babies (Saturday April 28, 2012). Throw in the Carolinas
Council Spring Conference and you can see there is no shortage of things to
do.
During our February Dinner Meeting, we heard the
latest Tax update from Clint Dobson of BDO in Raleigh. Our upcoming Dinner
Meeting, on Thursday, March 15 will shift our focus to ERP systems. Meg
Sollod, Controller of IEM, Inc., will give us points to ponder about
“Determining if you need an ERP system.”
Mark your calendars…
·
The next Lunch & Learn will be on Tuesday, March 20, at
Prestonwood Country Club. The topic is “Workforce Optimization,” by a group
from Insperity (formerly Administaff).
·
The Carolinas Council Spring Conference will be in Myrtle
Beach on April 19-20.
Once again, we are working hard to finish high enough
in the Chapter Competition to receive a banner at the Annual Conference in
June. We have placed in the top 10 for five straight years and I want to
keep the streak alive. We need your support to help us maintain the high
level of excellence we have achieved in the past several years. If you have
not attended a meeting recently, please come out and see for yourself what’s
going on in the IMA NC Triangle Chapter!
Information for all up-coming events can be found on
the Chapter website, which is
www.imanctriangle.org. If you have any questions or comments, please
let us know. We value your feedback!
Don’t forget, if you register for the meeting and
pay via Pay Pal by the 10th of the month, the price is only $25.
As a note, please keep in mind to register for meetings as soon as
possible. This allows us to give accurate counts to the venues, so we have
ample seating (and so we do not over pay for meals). Thanks for your
consideration.
See you on March 15th!
Best
regards,
Vance
